Last open field section Chrysco converted into benches PDF Print E-mail

At Chrysco, Australia, is the last section where chrysanthemums are grown in open ground converted into roll containers. Most work is now done in a centrally located controlled temperature work area. This is important because it is difficult to find employees willing to go into the heated greenhouses. Cor Slijkerman, emigrated to Australia years ago, got done what Dutch growers failed to achieve: Growing Chrysanthemums profitable on a mobile system. The short days and long days is now accomplished by moving the plants instead of having to adjust the lighting of each greenhouse section over and over again.
