Location: Den Hoorn - the Netherlands Company surface area: 25,000 m2 Cultivation: Cumcumberts

For the newly built 2.5 ha complex, Bentvelsen cumcumber nursery wanted a logistics process that would bring some ‘peace and quiet’ to the place. Harvesting trolleys with spring-loaded flexible belts combined with a computer-controlled chain path to the grading machine were selected for the task. This quiet system was created by two suppliers joining forces : Metazet supplied the chain path and Logiqs Agro provided the harvesting system. Being open to collaboration with other manufacturers and suppliers is a key feature of Logiqs Agro. The client’s wishes and the quality of the system are our highest priorities. The harvesters are fitted with a spring-loaded flexible belt onto which the cucumbers are placed after they are harvested. The belt gradually lowers into the body of the trolley as the weight of cucumbers increases. This means that employees always have the ideal working posture and so are more productive and the fact that there is no distance to fall means that the proportion of damaged fruit is reduced to almost zero. |
